Turkish Navy Rear Admiral Mustafa Ugurlu, posted at NATO's Allied Command Transformation headquarters in Norfolk, Virginia, is reported to have turned in his identification papers and disappeared on July 22. Trudeau said the State Department doesn't comment on or handle asylum cases. They insist they were not involved in the attempted coup, had been tasked with transporting wounded soldiers and civilians and had fled for their lives after coming under fire from Turkish police. B'Tselem, an Israeli rights organization, said the Israeli forces and bulldozers rolled into the village of Um Al-Kheir and leveled five prefabricated shelters early on Tuesday. More than 220 Palestinians, including children and women, have lost their lives at the hands of Israeli forces in what is regarded as the third Palestinian Intifada (uprising) since the beginning of last October. A number of people, including lawyers, have been murdered in Quetta in recent weeks. The Pakistan Taliban faction Jamaat ur Arhar claimed responsibility. An AFP journalist was about 20 m away when the bomb went off. Almost 100 lawyers had gathered at the hospital in the heart of Quetta , the capital of Baluchistan province, after the body of Kasi, a prominent local attorney, was brought there. (more...)
