The weather service warns that roadways will be covered in snow and ice during the storm. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Opponents of the rule change argue that the burial requirement is an unnecessary intrusion on patient privacy. Reproductive rights advocates have told ABC News that the new rules will likely deter women from getting an abortion and will increase health-care costs dramatically, as the health-care facilities pass on higher costs of disposing of fetal tissue. And restrictions in Missouri (pdf) have forced the closure of all but one abortion clinic in the state, meaning women "from all corners" of Missouri are forced to travel 370 miles to obtain an in-state abortion, the lawsuit says. The ACLU said this ban forces doctors caring for a woman with a high-risk pregnancy to delay necessary care until her condition imposes an immediate threat of death or major medical damage. (more...)
