Bears sticking with Glennon vs. Steelers

OJ Howard to make NFL debut against former Alabama teammate Eddie Jackson

He is the co-host of "Dickerson & Hood" on the ESPN Radio national network, and is heard in Chicago on ESPN 1000.

Here are the five arguments, followed by my commentary.

"I don't think anybody. without even seeing the tape yet that you can pin that on the quarterback", Fox said following the team's 29-7 loss in Tampa Bay. "After two games it's really hard to evaluate somebody", Fox said. Trubisky had better be ready to play if necessary - for everyone's sake.

Yes, Trubisky was the one more often benefiting from snaps against backup defenders, but there was no denying that he made throws that showed why the Bears were excited enough to trade up - maybe unnecessarily - to secure him. Look, nobody with a logical brain killed the Bears for the Glennon signing but you have to realize it's a mistake at this point and move on.

"Koetter's Korner" takes place each Monday during the Bucs regular season and airs during News Channel 8 at 6:00 pm.

Bringing in Howard provides another such player that Trubisky is comfortable with that could serve him down the road. The truth of the matter is, Glennon is the same guy I've studied film on over the summer: A guy that likes to go through his progressions, but at times, holds on to the ball too long. I just think we all have a tendency to be way over the top for the good or for the bad. Otherwise, he'd be a game-day inactive.

Here's my look at the stats which helped the Buccaneers defeat the Bears in their first home action of 2017.

JJ Watt says his finger is 'pretty messed up'
That's intimidating for a young quarterback because he's got to be sitting back like, 'Man, those guys know what's going on"'. Joseph injured his right shoulder and Johnson went down with a left knee injury. "Just show it to me".

Even so, Glennon flopped in his return to the city where he spent his first four years.

The Bears had to know this wasn't going to be a season that would end with a trip to the Super Bowl.

Unfortunately for the 2016 Bucs, they didn't build off that Week One momentum. You can watch that discussion in the video above. That could take 20 years. "There is nothing we can do to change this game now". Sorry. You can't wait on stuff like that. As impressive as the first three seasons of his career have been, the towering 24-year-old wideout could be primed for his best numbers yet in 2017, given that the team's offensive roster is arguably the most talented of Evans' relatively young National Football League career. The running game eventually got going, but it was fairly late in the proceedings to make any difference. He's going to throw interceptions.

The Bucs, of course, already demonstrated how teams should best weigh tangibles vs. intangibles when they drafted Jameis Winston, a living, breathing character concern. Talent knows talent. Catch my drift? Trubisky will make his mistakes, you can bet on that. John Fox is clearly not the kind of coach capable of aggressively maximizing a roster of lesser talent.

Some Bears fans have begun to clamor for Trubisky, and that's not a surprise. That's just the nature of the business. The rookie tried fielding the ball off of the ground with Bucs players all around him. And they are far from full strength. The Bears committed 4 turnovers Sunday, and that's a hole that any team would have a hard time getting out of. What's wrong with being proactive about this? As of right now, the only home run hitter on offense is Tarik Cohen. So when I say all our hands were in it, I mean that. It's beyond ridiculous at this point.

Trubisky's time could be coming sooner rather than later if Glennon continues to put the Bears in a poor position.
