Rajon Rondo Shoots At Practice, Could Return For Boston Series

Gerald Green

Bulls point guard Rajon Rondo said he will not return for Game 5 of Chicago's first-round series against the Celtics on Wednesday night despite making an attempt to return early from his fractured right thumb and ailing right wrist.

Bulls at Celtics, Series tied 2-2. This could just mean that the Celtics, whom had the best record in the Eastern Conference, just needed to get warmed up, because the two games that they won at Chicago were both heavy victories. "One thing about playoff basketball, when the shot's not falling, you've got to figure out a way to win". Their last two wins, though by a combined 20 points, were closer than the score might indicate, and Rondo was enormous for Chicago when Boston dropped the first two matchups of this series.

"We believe in one another". Rondo was originally ruled out for the game on Monday, but Bulls head coach Fred Hoiberg opened a window by saying he's out "as of now". "Now it's our job to continue". He's played like a champion during every minute in the first round of the series. Paul Millsap finished with 21 points and 11 rebounds. Avery Bradley matched IT's point total, with many of his points coming in the first half as the rest of the Celtics' offense struggled. In Game 2 Rondo was almost ideal dropping 11 points, 14 assists, grabbing nine boards and getting five steals.

"When you're in a series like this, small details are very important", Wade said. "That's just the confidence I have, but also my coaching staff and my teammates put me in a position to be successful".

Isaiah Thomas carried his team, not the ball.

Trump Backpedals on the Mexican Border Wall
The standoff between Democrats and Republicans over the wall is more of a political fight than a policy fight. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi , D-Calif., approved of President Trump's apparent shift.

Boston threatened to take total control of the game with a quick spurt at the start of the third quarter, but the Bulls fought back on the strength of their defense, taking a two-point lead into the final quarter. Thomas leads also in assists with 6.0 while Horford tops in rebounds with 9.5 per game. Horford followed that up with a three-point play.

Tensions are running high ahead of the pivotal game. We not gonna sit here and get each other's faces. "I'd rather see that than see nothing".

Isaiah Canaan will get the start if Rondo can't go. "That's a pretty good night for us". "They say I'm the worst defender in the league. We really want him helping out there from the floor", added Butler.‎.

Rondo "switched from a cast to a soft splint and did manage to participate in most of Tuesday's practice while protecting the injured hand", per Marc Stein and Marc Spears of ESPN.

Canaan wasn't much of a contributor in the regular season, averaging just 4.6 points in 39 games.
